Chinese and Japanese scholars have appreciated stones for centuries. They were said to “cultivate” themselves through stone appreciation. Modern enthusiasts reinvigorate these traditions of exhibiting landscape-view and nature related stones. This exhibit of PVSC members’ stones suggests changes and challenges in modern stone appreciation.
