The grounds are open Fridays through Mondays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; the National Bonsai & Penjing Museum is open Fridays through Mondays from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The grounds are closed to the public Tuesday through Thursday. Admission is free.
The Visitor Center is open Friday through Monday (except for the holidays listed below) from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Visitor maps and restrooms are available at Arbor House, located next to the R Street Gate.
Monday holidays the Arboretum Visitor Center and National Bonsai & Penjing Museum are closed in 2014 (the grounds, however, will be open):
The Arboretum is located in northeast Washington, DC, 2.2 miles from the Capitol. It is bordered on the west by Bladensburg Road, on the north by New York Avenue, and on the south by M Street. Visitor entrances are located on New York Avenue and on R Street.
