Please Comment on The U.S. National Arboretum's Collections Policy

Please share your views with us on how the U.S. National Arboretum should approach decisions regarding our collections.

What criteria should we use for establishing and reviewing policies for our collections, such as scientific, educational, and aesthetic value, and the weighting of each? What role should uniqueness, commercial value, cost of maintenance, and/or optimal use of space play in our decisions about the collections of plants at the Arboretum? And, how and when should we seek and use stakeholder input to these decisions?

We also would like to hear your creative ideas for improving the resource base of the Arboretum. Tell us what you think we might consider as ways to sustain resources needed to maintain and potentially expand our research, education, and public display garden goals at the U.S. National Arboretum.

Thank you for your thoughtful responses.
